Enchanting Mechanics & Material Quantities

1. Artifact Foundry Enchanting

Any craftable piece of equipment can be upgraded to higher enchantment levels at the Artifact Foundry in any royal city or Brecilien.

  • .1 (Uncommon): Requires Runes matching item tier.
  • .2 (Rare): Requires Souls matching item tier.
  • .3 (Exceptional): Requires Relics matching item tier.

Enchanting is 100% deterministic (no failure risk) and does not benefit from Resource Return Rates (RRR); all materials are consumed.

2. Material Requirements by Slot

The number of Runes/Souls/Relics required per level depends on the item slot (read directly from game data upgraderequirements):

  • Two-Handed Weapons: 384 Runes / Souls / Relics per level.
  • One-Handed Weapons: 288 Runes / Souls / Relics per level.
  • Chest Armor: 192 Runes / Souls / Relics per level.
  • Helmets, Boots, Off-hands, Capes, Bags: 96 Runes / Souls / Relics per level.

3. Enchant vs Direct Buy Comparison

  • Total Enchant Cost: BaseItemPrice + Sum(MaterialCount * MaterialUnitPrice).
  • Direct Buy Price: Market price of the finished item at the target enchantment level.
  • Net Savings: DirectBuyPrice - TotalEnchantCost. If positive, enchanting yourself saves silver compared to buying directly.
